The Five Nations Menu Challenge
at
Hotel Olympia 2000

                                   The Jersey Chefs Circle were invited, at very short notice, by the Craft Guild of Chefs to compete in the Five Nations Menu Challenge 2000.
                                     This competition, organised by the Craft Guild of Chefs and sponsored by Electrolux Foodservice is held every 2 years at Hotelympia.
                                     Although we were already committed to 24 other classes in the British Open Cookery Championships at Hotelympia we were glad to be asked to compete in such a prestigous competition.

The Challenge

                                   The Challenge is for the team to prepare and cook a three course “Brasserie” style menu for 32 covers in the specially built Five Nations Restaurant. The Menu must reflect the tastes and flavors of the country you represent.

                                     The Team from our sister Island of Guernsey were this years winners, wihic says a lot for the high standard of catering in The Channel Islands.
                                     This year teams from Ireland, Wales, England and Guernsey as well as Jersey entered
