The  Formation

                               The Jersey Chefs Circle was formed in 1991 by a group of locally based Chefs, and  was the first Chefs "Guild" in the Channel Islands.

                               The Circle’s founders were for the most part senior Chefs in some of the Islands larger and better known Establishments who saw the need for an organisation or “Guild” that would enable Chefs Island wide to meet and get to know one another  both professionally and socially.

                               From a  small number at the beginning the membership has grown steadily over the years and now includes Chefs from a wide range of establishments. Membership is open to all Professional Chefs, from first year commis to Executive Chefs with many years of experience.

Aims and Objectives

                             The principal aim of the Chefs Circle is to promote the development of craft skills and techniques among our Membership, and to establish a “Network of Chef’s” throughout the Island and further afield. We will also continue to expand our “Social Club Activities”. 

                             We believe that that our continued participation in  Culinary Competition at both local and International level is of paramount importance in the development of the skills necessary to be successful in today’s catering world. With that in mind we will continue to participate in as many top level culinary competitions as our budget will allow.
